While in Nepal to climb Ama Dablam in 2013, I trekked around 3 valleys in the Sagarmatha National Park- Khumbu, Gokyo and Bhote Koshi. Highlights were frequent, including visiting Everest Base Camp and Kala Pattar, Gokyo Lakes and Renjo Pass. 2 Albums to view below.
First Album: Khumbu Valley, Kala Pattar, Everest Base Camp, Ama Dablam Base Camp
The Khumbu Valley holds a special place in my heart. The Sherpa people is one of the most gentle cultures on the planet. The scenery, famous for Everest, but special for every peak you pass by, is truly awe inspiring. The lifestyle of waking up and walking through nature everyday is something i absolutely love. Special shout out to Dean wwtrek.com for putting together this incredible trip for me, and to Nima Sherpa, for spending 5 weeks with me wandering around the Sagarmatha and keeping me safe climbing on Ama Dablam.
Second Album: Gokyo Valley, Gokyo Lakes, Cho Oyu, Renjo Pass and Bhote Koshi
The beautiful and far less traveled valleys of Gokyo and Bhote Koshi, a trek I decided to do when it became apparent that we wouldn’t be able to do the summit push on Ama Dablam. The view of Everest, Makalu, Nuptse etc from Renjo Pass was very spectacular… and with far less people to share it with than at Kala Pattar in the Khumbu. I really loved this trek.
